Every PondMAX annual service kit is built around the same four components:

• Replacement UVC lamp

Choose the Kit That Matches Your Filter

PondMAX sells eight versions of this kit and they are not interchangeable. Wattage, o-ring size, and pad count change from model to model, and in two cases the same model number split into two different builds partway through production.

Match the Wattage First

The wattage stamped on your current UVC lamp or ballast is the fastest way to confirm which kit you need. A PF750UV runs a 9 watt lamp, a PF1200UV runs 13 watt, and wattage climbs from there up to the 55 watt lamp in the PF7200UV. If the wattage on the kit does not match what is currently installed, it will not fit.

PF2400UV and PF3600UV Owners: Check Your Build Year

PondMAX changed the internal UVC assembly on the PF2400UV and PF3600UV at some point in 2016. Filters built before that change take a lower wattage lamp than filters built after. Pull the wattage off your existing bulb or ballast before ordering rather than guessing by purchase date, since dealer stock sold both older and newer units for a period.

Why These Parts Wear Out Every Season

UV lamps lose germicidal output well before they burn out completely, which is why pond keepers replace them annually rather than waiting for a failure. The quartz sleeve around the bulb picks up mineral scale from pond water over a season, and that film blocks UV light from reaching the water even when the bulb itself is fine. O-rings harden and take a set over months of pressure and temperature cycling, and once they lose their give, the filter housing is more likely to weep at the seams. Filter pads simply fill up with the biofilm and debris they were built to catch.

None of this means the filter is failing. It means the consumable parts have done their job for a season and it is time to swap them out.
