The Hornwort Coontail plant is a submerged, non-rooting oxygenating plant. It grows similarly to Anacharis for pond health.
Its leaves are longer and thinner than Anacharis. They pack tightly in whorls to form plumes at the growing ends of the green stems.
This coontail hornwort typically floats in water or anchors loosely in mud. You can root it in an aquarium or leave it floating.
Dark green leaves reach lengths of 4" to 10". Stems can grow as long as 2 feet. It is a hardy species that adapts to many water types.
