The Aquascape Signature Series 1000 Pond Skimmer (Model 43022) is a mechanical filtration unit designed for ponds of up to 1,000 square feet. It literally skims the floating debris off the surface of the water before it has a chance to sink and decompose, thereby reducing sludge and algae blooms from decomposing leaves and organic matter. How the Signature Series 1000 Works

Where to Install It

Placement is key to how well any skimmer works. Install the unit on the downwind side of the pond- wind will naturally push floating leaves and pollen toward that edge. Keep it close to the waterfall or biofalls inlet so that the discharge line of the pump is short; a short run means less friction loss and a pump not working harder than it needs to.
