EasyPro TB-Series High Head Pumps

The EasyPro TB-Series is a submersible pump which runs constantly without any break and is designed for the application that requires a higher head in ponds or water features, such as waterfalls over 20 feet tall, large koi ponds, pondless waterfall systems, skimmer-mounted installations, and pump vaults. It comes in three configurations of 1 HP, 2 HP, and 3 HP with maximum flow rates varying from 7,800 to 14,500 gallons per hour.

The TB-Series needs at least 20 feet of head pressure to run the way it’s built to. If you’ve got less than 20 feet of straight-up lift in your install, put in a ball valve on the discharge line—this will give you fake back pressure and keep the motor safe.

A rating of more than 100,000 hours of operational life has been given by EasyPro to the TB-Series, which is over 11 years of continuous round-the-clock operation. The Japanese double mechanical seals of the pump are what drive this longevity; they provide much better protection against water ingress as compared to the standard single-seal designs.

All TB-Series models have 3-inch outlets. For the main run, 3-inch diameter pipe is recommended to prevent flow throttling at the pump outlet. Anything less than 3 inches will result in considerable friction loss and will reduce the effective head performance.

The TB-Series is rated for continuous duty - it’s built to run non-stop 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That makes it a good fit for koi ponds (or any pond, really) where you need constant circulation and oxygenation - and can’t shut the pump off overnight.

Functionally, the TB8000 and TB8002 are the same. Both are 1 HP pumps with a 7,800 GPH max flow, 40 feet of max head, 3-inch outlet, and a 20-foot cord. The only difference is the voltage. The TB8000 is 115V and draws 10.9 amps, while the TB8002 is 230V and draws only 5.5 amps, which can save long-term electricity costs in high-use installations by reducing the power consumption.
