A pond skimmer sits at the water's edge and pulls debris off the surface before it sinks and breaks down into muck. Atlantic Water Gardens builds this line in five sizes, from the small PS3000 satellite unit up to the PS15000, which is sized for large koi ponds and small lakes. Each one houses a pump, holds the filtration media, and keeps the whole system out of sight behind the skimmer lid.
The PS3000 works differently than the other four. It doesn't skim on its own. It's a satellite unit that plumbs into a PS7000 or PS15000 to pull water from a corner of the pond the main skimmer can't reach.
How These Skimmers Work
Water flows over the weir into the skimmer basin, where a net catches leaves and floating debris before it reaches the pump. On the PS3900, PS4600, PS7000, and PS15000, a mat or brush panel sits behind the net for a second stage of filtration, so fine particulate gets pulled out too before the water heads to your waterfall or biofilter. The pump sits inside the skimmer body, out of the pond and out of sight, which makes maintenance and pump swaps a lot less of a wrestling match than pulling a submersible pump off the pond floor.
All four full-size models take two pumps. That means you can split flow between a waterfall and a fountain, or add a second pump as backup, without buying a second skimmer.

Which Model Fits Your Pond
PS3000 Satellite Skimmer
The PS3000 has a 6" weir and handles up to 3,000 gph. It isn't a standalone skimmer for most setups; it's an add-on that plumbs into a PS7000 or PS15000 to draw and clean water from a hard-to-reach corner. It installs inside or outside the liner, has a 13"W x 13"D x 25"H footprint, and uses net filtration only. Atlantic pairs it with an AquaMax Eco Premium pump installed inside the liner.
PS3900
The PS3900 has a 6" weir, an internal water depth of 14½", and a max pump flow of 3,900 gph. It's rated for ponds up to 200 square feet and filters with a net plus a Matala mat. It's built to match the BF1600 filterfall. Dimensions are 17¾"W x 19½"D x 19½"H.
PS4600
Step up to the PS4600 and you get a 6" weir with a max flow of 4,600 gph, rated for 400 square feet of pond surface. It filters with a net and a brush panel and pairs with the BF1900 filterfall. It measures 19½"W x 26"D x 22"H, with an internal water depth of 15½".
PS7000
The PS7000 moves up to a 9" weir and handles 7,000 gph, enough for ponds rated to 900 square feet. It uses net and brush panel filtration, matches the BF2600 filterfall, and comes in a 25"W x 30"D x 24"H housing with a 17½" internal water depth.
PS15000
The PS15000 is the largest in the line: a 14" weir, 15,000 gph max flow, and a 1,400 square foot rating, which puts it in range for small lakes and large koi ponds. It uses net and brush panel filtration, matches the BF3800 filterfall, and measures 28"W x 33"D x 31"H with a 24½" internal water depth.
Build and Filtration Details
The enclosures are reinforced to resist warping and deformation, which matters if you're burying one and backfilling around it, since a skimmer body that flexes under soil pressure will eventually crack or let the lid gap. The faceplate hardware is black anodized stainless steel, so it won't streak or corrode sitting at the waterline for years.
Filtration on the PS3900 through PS15000 stacks a net with either a Matala mat or a brush panel behind it, depending on the model. That second layer is what keeps fine debris from loading up your biofilter, so it doesn't need cleaning as often.
Plumbing and Pump Options
These skimmers support multiple plumbing configurations, along with check valve and ionizer options, which is part of why Atlantic markets this line as one of the more flexible on the market. If you're running the PS3000 as a satellite, Atlantic specifies an AquaMax Eco Premium pump installed inside the liner to draw water through it. A full instruction manual, covering install and plumbing layouts for all five models, is available as a PDF download on this product page.
Warranty
All five models carry a lifetime warranty on the enclosure.
