Green, cloudy pond water is almost always free-floating algae passing through your filter faster than it can be caught. A UV clarifier solves that by killing algae cells with ultraviolet light before they multiply, and the Teton Professional UV Clarifier does the job with a metal housing instead of the plastic shells most budget units rely on. It comes in five wattages, 16W through 120W, so you can size it to your actual pond volume instead of guessing.

Metal Housing, Not Plastic

Plastic UV housings fog, yellow, and eventually crack under sun exposure and outdoor weather. Teton uses aluminum on the 16W model and stainless steel on the 25W, 40W, 80W, and 120W models instead. Metal holds up to years of sun and freeze-thaw cycles in a way plastic doesn't, and it doesn't break down under constant UVC exposure from the inside either.

Reflective Interior, More UVC Reaching the Water

The inside of a metal housing reflects UVC light back into the water column instead of absorbing it the way plastic does. More of the lamp's output actually reaches the water passing through the chamber, so the unit gets more disinfection out of the same wattage. That reflectivity is part of why Teton can rate these units for the flow numbers listed below.

Larger Housing Diameter Keeps Flow Moving

A wider housing gives water more room to move around the lamp without creating a bottleneck at your pump's discharge. That extra diameter is part of why these units handle the flow rates in the spec table, from 2,250 GPH on the 16W up to 7,000 GPH on the 120W.

2-Inch Multi-Directional Outlet

Every model in the line uses a 2-inch intake and discharge, and the fittings rotate to different directions. That matters more than it sounds like it should when you're retrofitting a UV clarifier into existing plumbing that wasn't laid out with this exact unit in mind. You're not locked into one orientation out of the box.

Choosing the Right Wattage

Bigger isn't automatically better here. A UV clarifier only works if pond water sits in front of the lamp long enough to actually kill the algae passing through it, so running a pump that outpaces the model's rated flow pushes water through the chamber too fast for full exposure. Undersizing has the opposite problem: contact time is fine, but the unit won't keep up with your full pond volume. Use your pump's actual GPH and your pond's total gallons to find your model below.

Match the model to your pump's flow rate first, then confirm your pond's gallon count falls under that model's max pond size. If your pump outperforms your pond's volume, size the clarifier to the pump's GPH rather than the gallon count alone.

Warranty Coverage

Teton backs the ballast for 2 years and the housing for 5 years. That's a meaningful gap between the two, since the ballast is the electrical component doing the real work and the housing is largely mechanical once it's installed and plumbed in.
