How the PerformancePro WellSpring Works

The WellSpring is a direct-drive submersible pump. It has an intake strainer at the bottom where water is drawn in through the screen and then a semi-open impeller through which the water is forced by spinning to create centrifugal force. It comes out at the 2-inch discharge port at rated flow rates.

The spring-loaded mechanical seal, an API-regulated component, keeps the electric motor isolated from water. An overload protection circuit is used to monitor the temperature of the motor as well as the current draw. The power will be automatically cut if there is an overcurrent before any damage can be caused. Such a closed-loop protection system is what has given WellSpring pumps their reputation for longevity in continuous-duty applications.
