Choose the Right EasyPro TM Series Model in Four Steps — Sizing Guide

To select the right TM Series model, you should match your waterfall's flow demand to the pump's performance curve at your actual head. Here's how to do it in four simple steps:

1. Calculate your required GPH: Measure your waterfall spillway width in inches. Multiply by 100 GPH/inch for a modest curtain flow, 150 GPH/inch for a moderate waterfall, or 200 GPH/inch for a full, aggressive cascade. A 60-inch spillway at 150 GPH/inch requires 9,000 GPH — the TM9500 is the right fit.
2. Calculate your total head pressure: Measure the vertical rise from the water surface to the top of the waterfall (this is called the static head). Add 1 foot of head for every 10 feet of horizontal pipe run (this is known as friction head). Add 1-2 feet for each 90-degree elbow in your plumbing. The total dynamic head is equal to the sum of the static head and the friction head and fitting losses.
3. Match your requirements to the TM Series performance curve: At zero head (pump submerged, flat discharge), the TM9500 delivers its full 9,500 GPH. At your calculated head height, actual flow will be lower. Use EasyPro's published pump curve to confirm actual GPH at your head height exceeds your target GPH.
