As a general rule, your pump should turn over the entire pond volume at least once per hour. The XC1500 at 1,500 GPH is suited for ponds up to approximately 1,500 gallons on a single-turnover basis, or larger ponds where supplemental filtration is in place.

Is the Teton XC Course Series safe for koi ponds?

Yes. The sealed motor housing, pre-filter screen, and smooth impeller design make it safe for fish-populated ponds. It does not grind or harm fish that come near the intake when the pre-filter is in place.
